Hello, I'm Kendall
It's so nice to meet you, let's play makeup!
What do you get when you throw a graphic designer, circus, victorian funeral, & glitter in a blender? Just be sure not to add wheat, allergies are a bitch. (No, not that kind of bitch, I loves dogs, meet my dog Bella, spoiled mutt.)
Now over 30 I had no idea allergies could come out of seemingly nowhere, changing my diet, beauty regimen, well pretty much my life. There's been other health mysteries too, so trying to adjust & maybe help others I've began this blog. Part experiment, journal & exposition.
Killer Color
Why "Copper Arsenite"?
In the Victorian era, green while popular, was a hard to come by color artificially and thanks to a process also used for rat poison, "thanks Scheele" a formula was developed using copper and oxidized arsenic to color nearly anything you'd like from sugary treats, clothing to wallpaper. Using Arsenic was not uncommon at this time and there were a plethora of uses from said rat poison to pharmaceuticals and beauty regimens. Some ladies would remove Arsenic from fly papers readily available for beauty treatments, too bad this common practice also made one woman suspect of her husband's poisoning, something he probably did himself from taking arsenic supplements.
Scheele or Paris Green's hue was a beautiful blueish green, but with a lethal dose being only 70 to 200 mg, the arsenic could be ingested, or absorbed through the skin making the color to die for.
"When other kids were sneaking more illicit experiments I was in the bathroom covertly mixing eyeliner & lip smackers to make black lips."
