Dose of Colors

Hello Beauty Bat <3 Spring has sprung, Summer is coming in hard, hope you have your sunblock handy, it's time for iced tea and maybe a taste of berries.

Dose of Colors, launched in 2013 by Anna Petrosian after her passion and career lead her to develop her own brand striving for highly pigmented products. "At Dose of Colors, color is our inspiration and motivation in creating top of the line merchandise." States the brand's About section, and I won't argue they have some pretty wicked colors so I picked out my first favorites and here they are for your consideration: Blushing Berries eyeshadow palette, Berry Me and Cold Shoulder liquid lippies. (Like "berry" me in the ground? Well, that's what I think of and I like it.)

Below are my skin swatches with the eyeshadows on the left and lippies on the right. This black is strong and pretty opaque, it went right over my tattoo with no show through. The other colors are pretty smooth operators but I would not suggest forgetting a primer under them. While I love these colors, they're pretty good and I just need to add a white for an array of my favorite gothy looks, but liquid lipsticks stole the show to me.

I love these colors of the lipsticks, they were comfortable, dried with out drying my lips and I noticed a lack in cracking when distorting my lips, unlike many other liquids I've tried. They passed the kiss test, making them butch friendly (won't transfer onto your non lipstick wearing partner) and when I went to remove the swatches I noticed how well these lipsticks stayed on after washing off the shadows. Look below, a shot I grabbed as I was cleaning up in the bathroom, so the lighting is different, but with just water no budge until I used an oil based makeup remover.

For my look I started with Berry Chic over my lid, and from crease blending up and out lots of Berry Pop, perhaps my favorite from this palette. I then used of Berry Black in the crease but it's a strong one, which is great, but I was just on my way to the vet feeling sun springy so I decided I wanted to brighten it a bit and went over the back and blending out with Mixed Berries toward the outer corner, then used it as a liner around my top and bottom lids. Further blending out bottom lid with Rose berry and adding some on top to the inner corner. Partnered with lippie Berry Me I felt dipped in color, like the flowers on my dress and headed out the door.

After coming back I transitioned for night time just switching out my lip color to Cold Shoulder and the exact same look transformed into a much more dramatic look. Love the power of lipstick. These lipsticks are more of an eggshell matte, something to take note if that's important to your look, but just look at the shot of Berry Me I snapped in the sun below while my dog was paused sniffing a tree.

Other products used to compliment the look: blush, contour and Myth eyeshadow under my brow from Lunatick CosmetiCK Labs, mascara from Smashbox and ABH brow pomade.

Thank you for playing makeup with me! I hope you enjoyed your visit makeup land, please remember your shoes and jacket before leaving.

Love you Beauty Bat,

K. Just a reminder: I purchased these products with my own funds, no affiliation, this post is purely of my own opinion and experience.
