SauceBox Cosmetics
Good evening Beauty Bats! Let's take a trip to the seashore, "shell" we?
I was late finding out about SauceBox, and even later with this post... it's one of those Black Friday deals I was savoring, looking forward to playing with and now is the time... specially since they're on clearance now! O my! Time to check out the old before they bring in the new, and I'm pretty excited for that after trying these palettes and the brushes are so so soft.
I sat down with my dinglehopper a.k.a. fork for "aesthetically pleasing" hair, it only felt right as I dug into my Mermaid Palette, the colors are so soft, and feel almost creamy. I did notice my Moonshadows crumbled a bit, so it may pay to be gentle with these, but worth it. I love their shimmer. O so pretty. Plus the pans are on the larger side, plus they are made to easily remove and place in your own palette, refill, or change them up!
Etude Palette. Almond. Yep, I love this color! Not what I think of when I hear "almond" but whatever I love this color. Full range nude palette, it has two highlights including a white which I appreciate and the Coffee Toffee being so dark, Biscotti on the red rusty side and all the hues inbetween, it is a great neutral palette. Like the rest of their shadows they are velvety and blend pretty well.
While the Mermaid palette has beautiful colors, but this palette compliments it well for a full rainbow and I like to use multiple purples. While these palette are about out, the new season is bringing new colors and I can not wait. These shadows work great, go on smooth, layerable, packed with color but there was some fall out happening so it does not take much to pick up enough color. I am stoked for the new colors but if some of these really are gone, I will miss them when these pans run out <3
On our way out for a show I wanted to take these shadows for a test drive. After applying primer I started with Snow under my brow bone with Merman below that, Almond over my lid and past the crease for a base. I then took Seaside blending out from the crease, Coffee Toffee from outer corner crease blending out and in, patting a lil' more Seas Side on top over the lid. Took Fortuna appling that with a liner brush on under my bottom lash line the outer corner, with Inferno in the middle and then in the inner corner top and bottom used Kelp it Real for a final accent. I finished it off with black eyeliner and mascara and paired it with Anastasia Beverly Hills' Requiem first for a dramatic dark mermaid look.
Then I paired the look with The Balm's Charming, the light but bright pink is a great complementary color and rounds out this subtle rainbow look and we headed out.
A few more shots to compare how lipstick makes a difference. P.S. I made my necklace as I also do jewelry <3 Thank you for playing make up with me! Now hurry over to get your Mermaid Palette, and a set of black and gold awesome brushes for yourself from Saucebox from their "Blowout Sale" before they're all gone! https://sauceboxcosmetics.com/
