Medusa's Make-up Lipsticks

Medusa's Make-up is an indie brand that has been around a bit, I know I was drooling over them in high school 15 years ago with their rich color color palette and great gothy aesthetic. In 2016 they made the commitment to also become Vegan and work to ensure their cruelty-free ambitions. Pushing the boundaries of fashion they aim to "solve everyday beauty dilemmas while also making sure you're having fun and feeling good. All are welcome to join the party."-Medusa's Make-up

Today's dilemma, which color lipstick to complete a look I'm heading out to the theater in. How could I chose just one? Luckily you don't have to. Here's eight of their Lipsticks <3

Back to the Ancient Egyptians at least 5,000 years used crushed beetles to color red lips and 3,000 years ago Ancient Mesopotamian women tote the honor of being credited as the first to wear lipstick coloring with crushed precious stones. In ancient societies lipstick, cosmetics, were a form of a status symbol, and not just red lips, Egyptians commonly sporting purple and black too Style Craze notes. It wasn't till "Christianity took hold in Europe, lipstick became thing of the past and almost totally forgotten (Catholic Church condemned the use of cosmetics, often connecting red lipstick use with the worshiping of the Satan)."-Lipstick History. Cosmetics begin to make a come-back in Western cultures in the Victorian era with the industrial revolution, but often under the guise of "prescriptions" & still wasn't till the launching of silver screen vixen film actresses did lipstick become widespread again. I always feel more glamorous applying a twist-up lipstick, channeling my inner starlet at my 1930 vanity. There will always be that nostalgic appeal to this age-old cosmetic form.

Medusa's Make-up have a line of beautiful lippies that go on light, moisturizing and comfortable. These are great traditional vegan lipsticks, no-crushed bugs here, and as such they are not kiss/smudge proof but there is a reason sticks for lips have been around so long.

O' Lolita, and Lydia you may have stolen my heart, but you'll have to share it with all the others. Channeling a bit of an inner Gibson Girl, I fastened on a reproduction skirt and corset, adding on a smokey eye but it is easy to see each shade changes the look so much.

In the end I chose Lolita to accompany me to the Victorian era themed play to complete my very loose turn-of-the-century look.

At time of publishing you can get their set of 12 lipsticks including these colors and more for only $89.00, individually grab your favorites for $12.00 each.

Thank you for playing make-up with me today! I hope you enjoyed this romp in lipstick land.

Love you Beauty Bat,

K.

Just a reminder: I purchased these products with my own funds, no affiliation, this post is purely of my own opinion and experience.
