Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Part II
Hello Beauty Bats!
Welcome to the second installment of my Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, a cruelty free, paraben & talc free vegan company with lovely spooky products. The contour books are so amazing I wanted to do a look/review each, this one featuring Contour Palette Volume I, Lip Dies, custom shadow palette & Mystifying Mattifying powder which may just be witchcraft...
Just look at this contour palette, Contour Palette Vol I is on the lighter side of colors, a dream for me who likes to contour but does not want to look like I've been in the sun with fake bronzed contour colors. My skin tone is also on the cool side so I love the cool toned hues, but have no fear there's also browns if your tone is different or prefer that look, plus pinks making this a great multi-use palette.
For the eyeshadows today I have my custom coffin palette, with five of my favorites, you may notice I am really loving taupes, pink/reds with a touch of color these days. Gain Green, I can't say enough about this color & it is so complimentary/contrast to all these taupe pinky hues I've gathered here today. Both of Lunatick's Lip Dies which smelly delicious, dry matte, not drying and comfortable to wear are on the taupe side, and I love them both as great go to nudes. (Sorry somehow I forgot to swatch those on skin, however there's still the paper swatch & near the end of the post there is comparison photos <3)
Now for a face using the entire contour book, from top of face I used the book from top left down to right, in same order as the swatch, blending each into the next. Starting with #1 White at the top of my forehead blended into Light Cool, Medium Cool to Dark Cool. Hard transition end on the cool before beginning again with the next row down, Light Pink to medium, Beige Pink, then Brown and Dark Brown at chin and neck. Used the two lighter colors, Creamy Yellow and Light Brown for light contouring in the middle for a bit more dimension. I then went in with a white liner tracing the bottom of the hard transition to make it into more of a mask, and added details before accenting with Gain Green, and Red rum. On the chin I used Dark Cool and Dark Brown on the sides of the white line detail there, blending it into the darker neck. These pressed powders are amazingly blendable and buildable, including light on top of darker to highlight again. For lips I used Laurie and Nancy (scroll down to see them on their own better) which came to a very subtle nude nearly matching the medium pink face.
I used the Mystifying Mattifying High Definition Microfinish Powder to set everything and in deed it mattified, finished, and set everything without any noticeable color distortion or fading which I have come across often. Plus it comes in the cutest planchette palette!
Ooooh spooky, here's the planchette palette on one of the Ouija boards I painted showing off its cute self!
As always lipsticks, even subtle changes can really affect an overall look. Like that pair of shoes... actually I wouldn't know this, I wear black docs with everything. With a fresh plain face on the bottom to so you can see the lippies better here is Laurie a mauve rose on left and Nancy on the right a cool taupe light brown with a wild side of subtle sparkles.
Thank you for playing makeup with me!
As always this post only features my personal opinion.
