Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Part I
Hello Beauty Bats and Glamourous Ghouls!
This may be the first Lunatick Cosmetic Labs review, but it will not be my last, I love this company, their products, and packaging are to die for. Talc, Paraben, Cruelty Free, and Vegan products, in delightfully dark packaging, what is there not to love? They are well known for their amazing large contour books with 12 shades each including cool tones so you can contour without turning orange or looking like you were in the sun. All their pressed powder pans are highly pigmented, and versatile making them great for shadows, contour, special effects, whatever you can dream up.
Let's begin with the Limited Edition Elvira Palette, It features 5 shadows and a larger blush pan, in the shape of a coffin with cute pop up detail for your vanity on the go. The shadows also mix well with water so you can use them as liners too (I atleast tested this for the black and white). Liquid Lipstick shades used are Grave Heart an opaque medium purple and Ritual Red a transparent, buildable dark red that has a bit of a stain or blood look to it, perfect for vampy looks.
The Contour Palette used and swatched today is Volume 2, these shades are darker, with cool greys, and pretty rose blushes I wanted for this look than Volume 1. (There will be a second Lunatick review with Vol.1 later this week.)
Now for my Elvira inspired, spider lady look. After primer, a liquid foundation, I then used some setting powder to help with being able to blend the powders. On my eyes I began with Battitude, with Macabre on either side like the Elvira but then I pulled it out further. Using a liner brush with with and Bone I added dimension on the outside of the Battitude stripes, inner and outer eyes before tracing a spider web detail around my left eye. To make this pop more I used Macabre on the outside of each line, and a touch of Unpleasant Dreams for a bit more dimension. Since I did a line through my brows I wanted the left to look a little more distorted so where the white line intersect I moved my brow down. Elvira rocks those red lips so Ritual red went on first, but we all know lipstick's power to change a look, so I also tried on Grave Heart. (If only I had realized the shadow could be used as a cake liner in a pinch sooner because I fought my eyeliner pen, which I use everyday and love, but for this I wish I had used something with a brush from the start, I hope that does not take away from how great these shadows are.)
So there you have it, my spider-vira concoction look, I hope you enjoyed our first little playtime with Lunatick. Check them out at https://www.lunaticklabs.com/, and come back to Copper Arsenite soon for Part II including their Mystifying Mattifying powder, Vol 1 Contour Palette, a custom coffin palette, and their Lip Dies!
Thank you for reading, till next time keep it creepy! <3
