Jan'18 Medusa's Makeup Beauty Box
Medusa's Makeup is a cruelty free vegan indie brand, I remember their super bright eyeshadows and gothie motif from years ago, and recently I rediscovered them am happy I did! They now have a monthly subscription featuring 3-5 FULL size of their own products for $15.95 a month. This month included Metal AF in Hells Bells, Mystical Eye dust in Chrysaor, Glitter in Star Wars, and Makeup Setting Spray. Valued at $40.95, this is a pretty wicked box. Plus I do enjoy the fun of checking my mailbox for a pretty shiny surprise package. Swatch & review just below...
It took a few swipes of the liquid lipstick, but not bad, and I liked the coverage. Chrysaor seamed very pigmented and rich in glitter. Star Wars (yes I just saw that move with a bestie who at the time had already seen it 6 times, & we both love glitter so I smiled finding this very fitting) is a holographic glitter, it will respond to what you put it on, my face it worked like a warm sparkle highlight. Up next: My Look
At first I thought it could be too much for an everyday look, but I do love glittery everyday looks so I set to loading them on. I used Chrysaor at my crease on my eyes, thickening and blending it wider and out at the outside and only used some other white shadow for highlight on my lid and under brow. I used a primer, but the shadow seemed to be going on thin, but buildable, and as I built reddish hues were coming through as I put it on, the color seemed to be transforming (I even checked my brush that it didn't have left over pigment in it). The shadow was easy to build and blend, and looked as if I had used multiple products, so I concluded it was just magical. Over a light blush I applied Star Wars as a highlighter, also dabbing it in the inside corners of my eyes and under the brow bone. The hue was warm, and it was sparkly. The combo of the shadow and extra glitter did not feel over powering... but I do love a fair amount of glitter. Hells Bells was a perfect compliment with it's shine and bright light pink color. The liquid lipstick formula took a couple swipes to cover but it was easy to apply and comfortable. I topped it off with the setting spray and flaunted this look the rest of the day, and it stayed well, I checked it a few times and I was still good to go.
I found the combo very femme cutesy and fun but on the light natural side, it felt like spring and I like it. I'd recently dyed my hair back to predominantly pink and was so stoked that these products went so well with that but if it hadn't been for them arriving like this & doing a look to use only them I would not have tried a look like this and I liked it alot. Chances are I'll be flaunting this with a big brimmed hat come spring more!
Thank you for reading! Can't wait till next month <3
