Wet 'n Wild Goth-o-graphic

Ah, Wet n' Wild, my first eyeliner from a Walgreens near school brings back a bit of nostalgia. I used that eyeliner, and a silver lipstick by them to get me through most of junior high. The company out of L.A. is cruelty free and always has been, is a go to drug store staple, inclusive of all ages, sex, whatever, they have something you've probably used, or maybe should try and while being at the lower end of the price spectrum, why not? I know I stock up on their brushes, and working with special effects make-up (specially for first timers) recommend grabbing some of their brushes because they're not half bad, cute, and they're not going to break the bank if you totally destroy them with some crazy make-up project or are just starting to figure out what you like. However today, today we are here to talk about their spring holographic collection, "Goth-O-Graphic"?

At first glance my brain blanked out a bit and all I could hear was my inner voice "What the? What?" I blinked a few times trying to decide love, hate? Confused? Either way I love hated it instantly and wanted it all. I signed up for the alert, and purchased soon as it launched, if you bought the whole set it was even further discounted and comes in that damn stupid cute box. Okay so maybe I am a bit of mermaid unicorn sea witch goth and I already own more holographic and glittery stuff than one clad in all black should, but nope, I want more.

I mean seriously, I'm a rather macabre person, but I love pink, and glitter is my favorite color next to "skulls" so for something pink and princessy to come out with pretty skulls all over it, I was a little secretly stoked. How dare you know me Wet n' Wild, you don't know me... shut up and take my money. Just look at the highlighters.

All of the highlighters have a pretty nice glow to them and I like the variety. While I'm still partial to powders the stick is pretty fun and does create a different kind of glow. My favorite is the Moon Tears loose powder, I may have let out a high pitched squeal when I opened it to find a skull shaped screen (stupid cute) but the pressed powders are not half bad specially for the price.

The lipsticks swatched fairly well, they're a little thin, but I do like their colors. They'd probably be great to try over another color, but sadly I will not know for myself as I had an allergic reaction to them. The photos of me at the end of this post wearing these will be the only ones their will be & I'll just have to be a lil' jelly of others' looks with their Gunmetal Hearts and Death to Unicorns. I know I am sensitive, and have allergies, one reason I started this blog to record for myself and share if there are cohearts out there. If you are one, you probably already know and have your own thing but for me, I read the ingredients first and always allergy test. It's why I do skin swatches first and I hang out in them for a while to see if there is any reaction. Lips however are much more sensitive so even though it seemed fine on my inner arm, after using only briefly my lips became irritated, cracked and days to heal. The exact same reaction has happened before with a more premium brand, maybe now I can try to figure out which ingredient is the trickster.

Lipsticks and their paper swatches are on the left below and the eyeliners are on the right.

The liquid liners are not the most fluid, but you can work with them and their colors are pretty nice, check out the skin swatch with the eyeshadow skin swatch.

O Nyctophilia, "preference for the night or darkness"(-dictionary.com), of coarse you're a great color... but my favorite was actually was Goth Tears. Maybe the worst name in the set, and of course everyone knows real goths cry blood, but this silly two tone shimmer of pink and purple is just so darn pretty as an accent to black of course. I liked all the shadows actually.

If I had to pick my favorites, hypothetically, who really wants to make a choice? Out of the set it would be the highlights and eyeshadows first, I had the most fun with these.

To try and experiment with all of the products I began sketching out a real simple skull with Sugarpill's Bulletproof because for a "goth" theme they skipped an actual black... (I wish there had been like a black with holographic glitter liner.) but I still felt I needed some even if for pastel goth so I just did a lil black. Around the eyes I used all 4 eyeshadows, tried to create highlights to shape a skull with the highlighters (I learned my camera is not the best at picking them up. I tried 3 different lighting set ups.) and then used the shadows, and liners in lines to for a painted/sketched look. I was able to use all the products, the lipsticks are thin, but if you are patient and do a few coats they have a nice color. The liners take a few extra dips and due to allergy suspicion I did not use them too close to my eyes. The eyes, I really liked the shades Pure Intention and Goth Tears, the later being probably the most holographic with a pink/blue glow, I just kept putting more on, and then started going around the rest of my face around highlight areas.

Thank you for playing makeup with me!!!!!! <3

Just a reminder: I purchased these products with my own funds, no affiliation, this post is purely of my own opinion and experience. #notaprofessional
